Excavators
The basic & essential equipment required in a construction company is the excavator. Excavators are very versatile. In a construction company, the excavators are used for digging trenches, holes & foundations. They are also used for demolition, material handling, general grading/landscaping, lifting & placing of pipes, brush cutting with hydraulic attachments. There are various types of excavators namely, Crawler excavator, wheeled excavator, suction excavator, hydraulic excavator, long reach excavator & more.
Bulldozers
Bulldozers are used in infrastructure development, road building, mining, forestry & more. Bulldozers are used for rough grading, removing trees, stumps & boulders, shallow digging & ditching, and more. The bottom edge of the bulldozer has blades used for cutting trees. Bulldozers have a ripper, final drive, cab (space for the driver to sit & operate), Tracks/tires, Engine, push frame & blades. Bulldozers can be used in fields, plains & areas with irregular lands.
Dump trucks
Dump trucks are also known as tipper trucks. The Dump trucks are used for transporting loose materials such as sand & gravel or demolition of waste. Dump trucks are automotive trucks used for the transportation of bulk materials. There are various kinds of dump trucks namely, articulated dump trucks, rigid rear dump trucks, site dumpers & front dumpers. Dump trucks are not as versatile as excavators but are very essential machinery for construction companies.
Aluminium scaffolding
One of the most valuable construction equipment at this point in the industry is aluminium scaffolding which makes construction work at least ten times more seamless and easier. Graders
Graders also called motor graders are another type of equipment used in construction especially for the construction of roads. It is mainly used to level the soil surface. It contains a horizontal blade in between front and rear wheels and this blade is lowered into the ground while working. Operating cabin is provided on the top of the rear axle arrangement. Motor Graders are also used to remove snow or dirt from the roads, to flatten the surface of soil before laying asphalt layer, to remove unnecessary soil layer from the ground etc.
Trenchers:
Trenchers or Trenching machines are used to excavate trenches in soil. These trenches are generally used for pipeline laying, cable laying, drainage purposes etc. Trenching machines are available in two types namely chain trenchers and wheeled trenchers. Chain trenchers contain a fixed long arm around which a digging chain is provided. Wheeled trenchers contain a metal wheel with a digging tooth around it. To excavate hard soil layers, wheeled trenchers are more suitable. Both types of trenchers are available in tracked as well as wheeled vehicle forms.
When such equipment not work properly, fixed-speed AC motors are liable to overloading and facing mechanical damage. By utilizing a Lenze Drive, KEB Drive, Siemens Drive or Darwin Motion Drive a torque limit can be fixed so that the motor will stop upon after getting up to the permissible limit and it prevent any damage.
